The two feet of snow that we're supposed to get today hasn't started--yet--here in Williamsport. Yes, yes, the snow that we've had this year has been very pretty, but I am pretty tired of all this pretty. I don't like planning out my footwear just to go get the mail.
Pretty snow aside, I hate winter. It's dark, cold, and confining. You're confined inside your house and if you do go outside, you're confined inside three sweatshirts and six pair of socks. Summer, on the other hand, is the time of freedom; the kind that allows you to roll out of bed in the morning and into your tee-shirt, shorts, and sandals and you're good for the rest of the day, evening, and night. And think about this: to stay warm you need to become more active, but to cool off, you need to become LESS active. Who's with me on doing less?! In any case, with the "pretty snow" and the Slip and Slide known as I-81 and that fun game of trying to light my feet on fire in a vain attempt to keep them warm, I am presenting, as a public service, a summer interlude.
First, look down below the photo, and play one of my favorite summer songs, one that evokes images so strong and delightful that you can feel the sunshine on your face. And hey, it doesn't get any better than Dean Martin singing with the Mills Brothers, but scroll back up and focus on the photo. . . . Hear the robins' song? See the blue skies up above? When the song is finished keep this thought in mind: Only 13 more days until Spring Training starts!
Summertime... and the livin' is easy...

I had a photo of a lazy river. I don't have any photos of a mungo. If the storm keeps up, I'll be posting every summer song that there is!

Not a challenge, but a friendly competition would give us all something to do while while watching the snow pile up and over shrubs, the mailbox, my tractor that supposedly will plow the driveway. Should we eliminate all Beach Boy songs just because that's too easy? By the way, what is a "mungo"?
