This past weekend, my long-time friend Al Smith and I ventured on our 3rd Annual Virginia Baseball Pilgrimage. Taking in a Rebels game or two is always part of the Pilgrimage, as is playing a little baseball as well. My publisher, Chris Graham has posted the story of how it all got started. If you have ever wondered, "Why is Austin so passionate about baseball?" this will help explain!
After reading the story, my Virginia readers especially, should take the time to explore Chris' excellent coverage of sports, politics, and Shenandoah Valley events.
Al takes a grounder at the New Market Town Park during last year's Pilgrimage. Yes, we bought uniforms-- as I have written before, a second childhood is still cheaper than a midlife crisis.
Austin and I are looking for players for a pick up game on the morning of 4 July. Bring your bat, glove and Advil and we'll have a good old fashioned sandlot game at Rebel Park.
