What a great response!

Wow, what a great response and it hasn't even been 24 hours since I sent out invitations to this blog!  People who haven't commented here have been posting on my Facebook page.  Allow me to post responses to several comments in one big post:

Kim  asked me to explain my fascination with baseball--an excellent request, Kim!  I've put that in my little notebook and I'll post something on that soon.  My daughter, Sarah, would certainly like to know.

Lara, I have a shirt that reads "Life begins when the season starts," so for you and me and many others, there really isn't any difference between baseball and life, but I separated the two for all the "non-believers" out there.

Melissa, I appreciate your confidence in me and I will endeavor to live up to it.  The book is coming along very well, by the way.  Does the artwork on this blog suggest anything to you?

Jerry, I can see already how right you are:  This can get addicting.  Of course, ask all my former students and they'll tell you that I've always been addicted to spouting off.  You can ask some former school board members, too.

A couple of people have asked me to comment on A-Rod; that one will be coming soon, too.  (I'm starting to think that 3 posts a week won't be enough!)

Al, what you said about friendship is so true.  There would be no pleasure in this if I thought that there weren't friends out there to be entertained and to touch.
